I like to celebrate the good stuff
I’m certainly not Oprah, but I thought it might be fun to put together a list of my favorite things.
At the top of the list is The Ayurveda Experience. This is the product that transformed me from a soap-and-water-is-good-enough girl to a morning lotion ritual. After using the Blavana Body Lotion mixed with the Balaayah Black Gram Body Booster on my skin, it felt like such a luxury. I had to buy one of the applicators to apply lotion to my back because it was so jealous of the skin I could reach. I was recently at the lake with my daughter’s family and friends, and one of the ladies commented on how soft my skin was. Kelly laughed and told her I’d made her feel my skin too. Apparently, I’ve become that lady who makes people pet her.
Next on the list could be an entire post because the truth is, I’m a bit of a shoe hoarder, which sounds better than confessing to being a shoe whore… I blame it on all the years growing up in corrective shoes with no style. L’Artiste makes the funkiest booties and sandals and I’m crazy about them. The first pair I bought a decade ago is still in rotation. They have bright blue toes and tapestry sides. Shoes should be fun! This is why BOBS by Skechers also makes my list. Who can’t smile at sneakers in various cat and dog patterns? I reluctantly retired a pair recently, but Buy Nothing saved the day when a member gifted me a brand-new pair.
Happiness is guaranteed when you purchase Bombas. I know this from personal experience when my grandson put their Happiness Guarantee to the test. That young man actually wore holes in his socks and Bombas replaced them, no questions asked. If that’s not enough, when talking to customer service I mentioned losing socks in the wash. Turns out once a year, you can have a pair replaced for exactly that reason. The other great thing about Bombas is that for every pair purchased, a pair is donated. That’s a company I enjoy supporting.
Do you know the feeling of your tights creeping down your body? A saggy crotch is one of the worst feelings. Snag Tights has addressed that problem. While their ads are primarily targeted to plus sizes, they have all sizes and their sizing takes both height and weight into account, which makes for a much better fit. They use quality material that lasts. They do come from the UK so if you want colorful tights in autumn and winter, start looking now.
To wrap up my list, I will include FreshCut Paper. Kelly sent me one of their paper bouquets during COVID and I still enjoy it. What could be better than a sweet floral arrangement that never dies? Dress up dogs and cats, paper ornaments, and Christmas trees… there are so many choices. It is my go-to company for sending beautiful cards. My granddaughter absconded with my cat card and matching wardrobe. If you ever loved paper dolls, this brand is for you.
After a season of customer service issues, it feels good to come back to gratitude and share great companies.
P.S. Nobody paid me to say any of this. But two of these companies do have referral programs, so if you'd like a discount link for Ayurveda or Bombas, message me.
Sadly, I am not Oprah, so I can't yell, "You get a favorite thing! And YOU get a favorite thing!" But I can at least get you a discount.
